Hassaw Homes takes pride in our Green Building program, creating larger family and professional homes with smaller energy footprints. In the long run, our homes cost less to maintain and use as little as a third of the energy to cool and heat as standard construction specifications. The energy rating of our homes is much higher than Green Building Program requirements. The National Association of Homes Builders established a Green Building Program nationwide several years ago, and local communities soon followed suit. At Hassaw Homes we are happy to show you our Green practices on our current and past projects. We helped pioneer energy saving roof envelopes that can cut air conditioning use in half with greater comfort. Our common sense Green features cost only a little extra and save a lot over the years. As the owner of one of a Hassaw Home you will find that your monthly bills will be considerably lower than if you were to live in a standard home.

We believe that the responsibility to the environment is shared by all, so our approach to building is a collaborative effort among all parties involved. You, our client, need to understand the different ways in which it is possible to make your home Green, and we're here to help you with our knowledge of Green building. Throughout the building process we use “best practices” of Green building so that you in can live in the best possible home.

It is important to remember when going Green, though, is that you aren't restricted to any one style. It is possible to create a beautiful Green home in the style of your choice. Whether you enjoy Prairie, Craftsman or International style there is a Green home for you! If you have a Green building practice that is of special interest to you, please talk to us about it.
