David and Susanna Arscott founded Hassaw Homes in 2001. They designed and built their first house for themselves after extensive research of historic architecture in Austin as well as historic neighborhoods in Pasadena and San Diego, California. Their passion for early to mid 20th century architecture evolved into their business plan to design and build houses compatible with existing homes in historic Central Austin neighborhoods while incorporating modern, open floor plans and amenities to meet today’s family and entertaining lifestyles. Although the homes are usually larger than older, existing homes in the vicinity; the principals take great care in designing and building new homes with their neighbors’ interests in mind.
